Rhythmtree 2017
Rhythmtree is a beautiful family festival held each year at Three Gates Farm in Calbourne. Over the years that we have been photographing it, it has grown and evolved, but has remained very very safe and welcoming.

I have known Alex, Lindsey & their beautiful family for a few years now. I met them through my work as an event photographer as Alex is a member of the reggae band The Ohmz; whom I have photographed on many occasions. Alex contacted me in June to find out when I was free for some photos and wouldn’t tell me why! I was intrigued!
We photograph at the Isle of Wight Festival for Kashmir Cafe, a stage run by a great team in aid of The Quay Arts Centre.
Their big day began at Holy Trinity Church in Bembridge, on the Isle of Wight. It was attended by a wealth of the couple’s family and friends. The groom, Jimmy, was looking nervous but was well looked after by his three best men. Katie arrived in a vintage wedding car and looked stunning in white, she was accompanied by three adult bridesmaids as well as the couple’s two beautiful daughters.
Matt & Dan chose to get married at East Dene, a beautiful Georgian manor house, in Bonchurch on the Isle of Wight. It was a beautiful spring day and light flowed into the ceremony room through the conservatory. The ceremony was romantic and emotional, with readings from close friends and family.
2016 marked the end of Bestival on the Isle of Wight. It was a bitter-sweet year. It was filled with sunshine fun and photos as always but there was a melancholic scent in the air.
The Amy project began with the concept of expanding on a piece of work my Dad did in the 80s, a musical theatre piece entitled, The Road to Madtown.
Ventnor Carnival is the oldest of the Isle of Wights many annual parades. It is traditionally quite a raucous event and draws the biggest crowds all year. Floats from all over the Island come to circumnavigate the town. Pirates rub shoulders with Carnival Queens and the Ventnor Comic Jazz Band provides the sometimes wobbly soundtrack.
Ventnor Fringe Festival takes place every August. The little seaside town of Ventnor becomes a vibrant , buzzing place. Music pours out from venues all over town, from the Harbourside Bar on the seafront, to Parkside high above.
We were asked to photograph Sandown Carnival as part of a tourism drive. Photographing Carnivals is great fun, they are so very eccentric.
