Our photography style is creative and informal with a primarily reportage feel. We have a background in events photography and enjoy capturing funny or emotional moments. Having said that, wedding photography requires many kinds of photography to truly capture the feel of the day, so we approach every aspect with care and attention to achieve the highest possible quality outcome.
Whilst not strictly necessary, we really feel that a pre-wedding shoot enhances your photographic experience considerably. It is a relaxed time with none of the pressure of your wedding day. It allows us time and space to get to know each other a little and for nervous couples to get used to the feeling of being in front of the lens, as well as, of course, providing you with beautiful images to treasure.
From your pre-wedding shoot you will receive around 50 images. These will initially be sent to you in digital format and then will be included on your wedding USB stick as well.
The number of images you will receive from your wedding will depend upon the package you choose. I estimate that you are likely to receive between 600-900 photos depending upon the number of photographers on your shoot.
You will receive 2 sets of photos for each shoot on your USB stick. A high res set ready to print and an internet optimised set ready to share on Social Media.
Do we own the images?
No, the photographer retains the copyright for all images. However, you are assigned full and unrestricted personal usage rights to print and share/distribute the images yourselves. You may not sell the images and the photographer may use the images at any time for their own promotion.
What if we want to keep our photos private?
It is vital for wedding photographers to be able to promote themselves using their photos, as a wedding is a once in a lifetime event, however if it is very important for you to have a couple of particular images kept private, we are happy to oblige. If you wish to keep the entire wedding private, it may be possible to purchase the entire copyright for the images. This would need to be negotiated at the beginning of the process, so that any contracts reflect the arrangement.
If our wedding is cancelled, is our booking fee refundable?
Booking fees are non-refundable. Weddings tend to be booked very far in advance and it is often impossible to rebook a date that has been cancelled.
How about if we have to reschedule?
If you have to reschedule due to genuine and unforeseen circumstances (like our current CV-19 situation), we will do everything possible to accommodate your new date. If you are able to rebook within 12 months of your original date we will honour the price of the package at the time of booking. If the rescheduled date is more than 12 months later, there may be a small additional payment to take account of rising prices, but this will be minimal.
Can we have all the images, even the unedited ones?
No. The editing that we do is an integral part of your final photos. Each wedding is edited in a way that best suits the atmosphere and environment of the day. You will have a large selection of both black and white and colour photos within your (600-900) final images.
Do you offer discounts?
Discounts are occasionally available for Winter and weekday weddings. Aside from that, we are very happy to have a chat about creating a bespoke package for you. Bespoke packages are available from £1100.
How long will you stay?
Full day packages are for up to 12 hours photography and tend to start a few hours before the wedding ceremony for the bridal preparations and finish sometime after the first dance. Don’t worry if you’re day stretches beyond 12 hours, just get in touch and we can create a bespoke package that covers everything for you.
Do we need 2 photographers?
Not all all. One of us can provide great coverage of your day! It is worth considering a second photographer if you are having a large (over one hundred guests) wedding or if your wedding is split over multiple venues. If you would like both members of the couple to have their preparations photographed or if you have ideas for your couples shoot that are ambitious or require additional lighting, then a second photographer would be an essential extra.
Are you insured?
Yes, we have full professional and public liability insurance.
How long after the wedding will the photographs be ready?
We estimate 6-8 weeks for delivery of your wedding USB stick.
Where about are you based and do you travel for weddings?
We are based on the Isle of Wight, in the UK and will happily travel anywhere to shoot a wedding. For UK weddings further afield some reasonable travelling expenses will be charged.
We will not travel to a wedding more than an hour away on the morning of a wedding, in case of unforeseen and unavoidable hold-ups along the route. So may require 1 night accommodation the night before the wedding. If the wedding is a considerable distance that may be extended to include the night of the wedding.
All our destination wedding packages are for 2 photographers. Expenses for these weddings includes travel and 3 nights accommodation. We will arrive 2 days before the wedding to ensure no delays and leave the day after.
