A Coastal Pre-Wedding Shoot
Tom and Roshan are lucky enough to live in a lovely flat close to the gorgeous South-Wight coastline. For their pre-wedding shoot we walked down to their closest beach. Despite the grey and overcast day, the beach proved to be a beautiful backdrop for the happy couple. Piles of shingle crunched below our feet and the craggy cliff rose high above us. Both were coloured by muted oranges and blues. The couple rested on driftwood branches and embraced in cliff nooks almost deep enough to be caves. The walk to and from the beach gave us a chance to chat about their forthcoming wedding and discuss plans for the day.
A Tale of Two Venues
Tom and Roshan had really strong ideas about what they wanted for their wedding. When faced with the logistical difficulties caused by the distance between their chosen venues, they hired a gorgeous vintage double decker bus. ‘The Old Girl’ carried them and their guests between the two. Both Tom and Roshan got ready at East Afton Farmhouse. This is a gorgeous venue with the benefit of two separate sets of accommodation. Roshan and her bridal party prepared in the main farmhouse, complete with it’s own private cinema, whilst Tom and his groomsmen were in the annex.
The groom’s party boarded the bus first, taking residence on the open top deck. Once Tom was safely aboard with his sight obscured, Roshan and her party travelled on the bottom deck. The drive from Afton to Old St Boniface Church was exceedingly scenic and extremely bracing for those on the top deck. The Military Road which runs from the Western to the Southern point of the Island looked stunning. On the return journey, the sun was warmer and bride and groom enjoyed the top deck together with their wedding party. Upon returning to Afton, guests enjoyed crazy golf on the lawn and ice-cream from the superb Crave.
