A Sense of Anticipation

Gemma and Jake were wed at Albert Cottage in the Summer of 2023. Whilst Jake and his best men hung out at the family home, Gemma and her bridal party took up residence in the bridal suite at the venue. The guys at home were having a pretty chilled time. Chris was there documenting their boy time  as they chatted and joked before leaping into action. Jake and Gemma’s twin boys were with the bridal party, so Jake was making most of the down time before his big moment. The car was washed and looking shiny.  When the time came however, they leapt into action! Ties were tied and cuff links inserted. Eventually everyone was ready and piled into the BMW to head to the venue.

Meanwhile things were a lot busier at Albert Cottage. Hair and make-up was in progress and a couple of very excited toddlers were enjoying the change of scene. The very talented Lynsey-Marie was busy beautifying the bride and her bridesmaids, who were busy keeping an eye on the twins.

Both Chris and I love photographing wedding preparations as the sense of anticipation and the camaraderie are just so evident.

Man & Wife

After a rainy few days, the sun blazed through and allowed the couple the outdoor ceremony they had dreamed of. The Pagoda at Albert Cottage is gorgeous and surrounded by a garden in bloom. The couple said their vows and very shortly afterwards were deluged with a storm of confetti petals.

The couple were over the moon to finally be man and wife. The afternoon provided refreshments and games for all those lucky enough to be in attendance. In a change from tradition the couple chose to forgo speeches in favour of a great game of ‘Mr and Mrs’. They used their shoes to indicate their answers to much hilarity.

Gemma and Jake’s wedding day was as full of love as you could wish a day to be. Their twin boys spent the day toddling around the place, looking surprisingly non-plussed by all the strange goings-on! Chris and I had a really lovely time documenting the day, it is always a privilege to be part of an event so full of love. Thank you both for choosing us!
