A Pre-wedding shoot at Compton Bay

Emma and Ton met several years ago whilst surfing at Compton Bay. Compton is a favourite amongst Isle of Wight surfers and is part of an expanse of sandy beaches that stretch along the entire South West Coast of the Island. This is a wild coast; mainly uninhabited and facing the prevailing winds.

We returned to this beach for Emma and Ton’s pre-wedding shoot a few months before their wedding day. This turned out to be a truly stunning evening, the weather favoured us and our timing was perfect; as we finished, heavy black clouds settled themselves over the Sun and the rain started to fall!

A Wedding at Old St. Boniface Church

Emma and Ton were married in the pretty hamlet of Bonchurch, close to their hometown of Ventnor. The bridal preparations took place at home with their children lending a helping hand!

The wedding ceremony took place at Old St Boniface Church. The church is perfect and tiny, dating from the 11th century and seating only 30. Afterwards the bride and groom celebrated with their guests at East Dene, a stone built mansion where stripy deckchairs waited in a garden overlooking the Channel. Wedding goers were treated to afternoon tea, a barbecue and music by local Reggae band, The Ohmz. The weather was, once again, perfect.
