Afterwards we wandered down vast steps, to the beach during gorgeous golden hour light. This was where things got colourful.

We spent a full week in RIshikesh and began to feel very at home there. You can walk everywhere and the pace is leisurely. Long boardwalks run along the river from Lakshman Jhula to Ram Jhula and then onwards towards a third bridge, still under construction.
It was easy to see why the culture adored the Ganges River, its meandering presence weaved through the mountains cold and energising, full of spirit and ancient wisdom. It is said one dip in the river can clean you of all worldly sin. However, we only managed a foot or two – It was pretty cold!
After our frankly mind-blowing visit to the city of Jaipur, we hopped onto the train for the second phase of our journey. Destination: Ranthambhore National Park.
We arrived in Jaipur at around 10am on the 24th of January after a thirty hour journey from Heathrow. Much earlier that morning we had been dropped at Old Dehli Station.
The Muddy Bull Run is a Tough Mudder event. It takes place every year at Three Gates Farm in Calbourne, site of Rhythmtree Festival. Teams battle their way through woodland, past obstacles, under bridges and through streams on their choice of a 5km or 10km course. The competitors really enjoy the event even when cold and wet. For them it seems to be as much as the mud as it is the challenge!
Ventnor Fringe Festival takes place every August. The little seaside town of Ventnor becomes a vibrant , buzzing place. Music pours out from venues all over town, from the Harbourside Bar on the seafront, to Parkside high above.
Rhythmtree headliners have included Morcheeba, Robert Plant and The Stereo MCs, whilst the afternoon sounds have more of a World vibe.
We photograph at the Isle of Wight Festival for Kashmir Cafe, a stage run by a great team in aid of The Quay Arts Centre.
Brand new to the Island event scene in 2019, Awakening brought health and tranquility to our shores. Awakening Festival is the brainchild of Kate Taylor.
