Bestival, 2016
2016 marked the end of Bestival on the Isle of Wight. It was a bitter-sweet year. It was filled with sunshine fun and photos as always but there was a melancholic scent in the air.

In 2015 we continued with project ‘Clap your Hands’. We searched the woods for odd occurrences and the arenas for unconstrained joy. This was the year that the hill below the bandstand was transformed into a giant fiery peace symbol.
Lizzie’s Way Camp Bestival goes Wild was a small promotional event that took place deep in the Isle of Wight Woods. It was hosted by Lizzie, who runs Lizzie’s Way at Camp Bestival. Kids and their families arrived on site
2014 introduced Caravanserai and a giant glitter ball to the Bestival scene. Caravanserai was a great addition and featured a stage in a carousel and seating within modified caravans.
This was the year that the Dance area became HMS Bestival, a giant ship with mermaids on trapezes flying high overhead. Elton John played on the Main Stage and Lionel Richie’s Head made a starring appearance.
Between 2010 and 2012 Bestival became a much bigger festival. 2012 was the year of Pants to Poverty and Stevie Wonder. Bestival is famous for being the biggest fancy dress party in the World.
Camp Bestival is an Internationally renowned family Festival. Held each year at Lulworth Castle in Dorset, it is curated by Josie & Rob da Bank, of Bestival fame.
