Claire & Andrew

24 July 2021

Do you Claire...

Like many couples wed during 2021, Claire and Andrew had to wait for their big day. When at last, it arrived, it was everything they had dreamed of. Having had a wonderful time photographing their pre-wedding shoot, I went of to capture Claire’s preparations at Albert Cottage. Part of The Osborne Estate, Albert Cottage is now a small, luxurious hotel and wedding venue in it’s own right. When I arrived Claire and her bridal party were enjoying bucks fizz and being pampered by the fabulous Lynsey-Marie Lamothe and her team.

Nearby, Chris was busy capturing the preparations of Andrew and his groomsmen in a caravan at the Waverley holiday Park. In contrast to the bucks fizz and croissants being consumed at Albert Cottage, the men were tucking into full-English breakfasts when he arrived! With Andrew and many of his groomsmen having gaelic ancestry, kilts were in abundance.

Claire and Andrew chose to have a traditional ceremony at St Mildred’s Church in Whippingham.

On to Osbourne

After the ceremony everybody headed over to Osborne House for reception revelry, expertly presided over by wedding co-ordinator, Douglas Worsley. This wedding took place only days after lockdown restrictions were eased in England and as such the wedding guests were even more exuberant than normal. This really became apparent during the epic beer pong session after the wedding breakfast! Osborne House was the Summer home of Queen Victoria and has stunning grounds. We were lucky enough to be able to able to use the walled garden and private beach for photos.

Claire and Andrew are a wonderful couple and we had a fabulous time capturing their big day. They were incredibly kind and sent us home with a bottle of Adgestone Vineyard Red, which we enjoyed thoroughly after 12 hours of wedding photography fun.

Thank you for choosing us to be your photographers Mr and Mrs Aikman, we wish you joy and laughter in your life together.
