Dating from 1938, Ventnor Radar Station seemed to many to be an unlikely site for a house. Recently an architect did manage to transform the site into a spectacular one. The Ventnor Radar Station house is controversial in appearance and location.
On their wedding day, Jenna had her bridal preparations at a property within the gardens themselves. Her family and bridal party gathered around and we took photos as they walked past greenhouses and through tunnels of overhanging plants. The ceremony took place in a pagoda in the New Zealand Garden.
Stephen and Julian’s wedding followed an unusual timeline which suited the day perfectly. The couple walked down to Appuldurcombe House from their adjoining accommodation together. They were greeted their guests at a drinks reception on the lawn. Their wedding breakfast was served in the main hall before their ceremony took place.
Nicole and Steve’s wedding took place on the hottest day of the year. Fortunately a great deal of the day, including the ceremony was in a wooded glade, blessed with shade and dappled light. The bridal party, having prepared at the home of one of the bridesmaids, travelled to site by tractor and trailer.
Emma & Gareth had their legal ceremony quietly before their big day with just close family in attendance. This allowed them to hold their wedding in a field adjoining the beautiful Wolverton Manor. The ceremony was conducted by Jenni from Island Celebrants and took place under a corn-flower blue sky.
On their wedding day, Kylie and her wedding party got ready in an apartment adjoining Appuldurcombe House. Hair and make-up was provided by Lynsey-Marie with assistance from Jo Lofthouse. Mirroring her personality, Kylie wore a dress from Forget Me Not Designs, paired with a pair of incredible Irregular Choice shoes and carried a unique non-floral bouquet, created by Maddison Rocks.
Having thoroughly enjoyed the synergy of working with Elly at Botanical Vintage, we were excited to be booked again for another styled shoot to accompany our previous shoot at Northcourt Manor the previous autumn.
Andrea Black-Thompson arranged a photo shoot for her extended family when they visited the Island on a trip. We met on Ventnor Beach on an overcast day. The family all wore gorgeous colours which showed up vividly against the grey skies. We spent the first part of the shoot concentrating on full family and smaller group photos.
Tom and Roshan had really strong ideas about what they wanted for their wedding. When faced with the logistical difficulties caused by the distance between their chosen venues, they hired a gorgeous vintage double decker bus. ‘The Old Girl’ carried them and their guests between the two. Both Tom and Roshan got ready at East Afton Farmhouse.
